Born
in Orange, California in 1962. Mike Moore was raised in small farm towns
in Northern California and Central Oklahoma. A son of a career Marine
Corp Veteran, Mike entered the U.S. Air Force in 1980 and completed a 20
year career as a Military Police Officer, a U.S. Arms Control Treaty
Compliance Officer, a Combat Photographer, The Director of
Photography for the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds Jet Team and finally
retiring in 2000 as an Visual Information and Communications Manager. He
has an extensive education and background in computers, digital cameras,
photo science, sound and video and owns and operates Big Screen
Presentations in Tualatin, Oregon. Mike
is very involved with fundraising and
many local community events. Brides Against Breast Cancer, Leukemia/Lymphoma
Foundations, Boys and Girls Aid, Veterans of Foreign War Events, Memorial Services, Tualatin
Historical Society and many more.
He is also in the
entertainment business as a Solo Artist and Contract DJ.
His music career started
at age 15 as a bass player and vocalist. Studying under the tutelage of
Phillip Lann, he joined the Chris Casey Band in 1979. He's played in many
bands over the years to include The Misfits, The Penetrators, The
Zephers, Crossroads, A Touch of Grass and currently as a one-man band.
Mike is a multi-instrumentalist and spent many years in Alaska in the early 80's playing for villages
and the tour circuit with Tommy Rocker of Las Vegas and Kit Carson, who
is still a local favorite in Fairbanks. In the 90's he played in
casinos on the Las Vegas Strip and performed with local Country Radio Station
KOMP
around Nevada. His music roots are country, but idolizes
Brian Setzer and Keb Mo'. Instrument of choice is a
1991 U.S. Strat Plus in Caribbean Mist. Music has always been and will
continue to be a huge part of his life.
